MyWhisky | Whisky cask investment in Scotland
Diversify your portfolio with whisky casks in Scotland. MyWhisky guides you through choosing the cask, documenting ownership, storage and management for the life of the investment.
01
You buy a cask of whisky that stays in storage in Scotland while it matures. It is an investment in a physical asset; the terms of ownership, storage and sale are set out in the transaction documents.
An identified cask and documented ownership, as set out in the transaction documents.
An asset class with characteristics unlike those of traded financial assets.
Age, quality and demand may all affect a cask's value.
A storage location, reporting and insurance, under the terms of service and the policy.
Working with distilleries and a whisky market with a long tradition.
02
During maturation some of the liquid evaporates and the whisky keeps developing. Age and rarity may add to its value, alongside quality, demand, costs and market conditions.
The whisky goes into a pale oak cask, young and sharp. From here begins a process measured in years, inside a warehouse in Scotland.
Each year a little of the liquid evaporates through the wood, what is known as the “angels' share”. The whisky that remains takes colour, aroma and character from the oak.
There is less liquid in the cask, and the whisky is older. This is the stage where we review sale options together, in line with market conditions and the terms of the deal.
An illustration of the maturation process only; not a forecast of the cask's value or of returns.
